Welcome to the April edition of the BooksForABuck.com newsletter.
April is Script Frenzy, the month where writers are encouraged to try to write an entire screenplay in one month (www.scriptfrenzy.org). I'm giving it a try. It's funny that people complain about certain types of genre novel being "formulaic." With the screenplay, there are specific page numbers you shoot for for things like stating the theme (page 5), scene two break (page 25), Bad Guys Close in (55-75), etc. (Note" these examples are taken from Blake Snyder's SAVE THE CAT). Several of BooksForABuck.com's authors are participating (including me). Send good wishes our way.
