Web search Newsletter--August, 2012

    News and Events

Welcome to the August edition of the newsletter.

The big news in publishing over the past month is self-publishing. Authors who were unable to get their works into a traditional publisher have struck out on their own, some of them even hitting the New York Times best-seller list. As a publisher myself, I think we add considerable value to the final product of a great book in the reader's hands. Still, self-publishing has an important role in making sure that we publishers prove our value to both consumers and authors.

    This Month's Release(s)

HideHide and Sidhe by J. E. Bruce. Centurion Arrius Marcus Niger and the Roman legion he created has been shipped to a new planet where his battles are supposed to save the human race. Except the more Arri learns, the more he realizes that nothing is quite so simple. HIDE AND SIDHE is on sale for only $1.00 until September 1, 2012.

Still on Sale--but only for three more days

Trophy Wives coverIt took a bit longer than I'd hoped but SOMEBODY IS KILLING THE TROPHY WIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS by John Kane is now available. TROPHY WIVES is on sale for $1.00 for its first month of availability (regularly $3.99). Here's what Michael Musto of the Village Voice said: "A hilarious, dishy, and incisive look at the dark side of having too much California sunshine. This comedy/mystery romp could change your life if you stop laughing for a sec and start heeding its morals. Yes, there are some morals!" -- Michael Musto, La Dolce Musto, The Village Voice.

Later this month, CROSSFIRE DIAMONDS by George Snyder (look for it around Aug. 24th). A "caper" adventure with beautiful women, hard men, diamonds, and a mob assassin too sexy for her own good.
