    News and Events

    • Welcome to the February edition of the newsletter.

The big news in the eBook world is the fight between Amazon and Macmillan (with Apple on the sidelines egging them on). Amazon wants to charge $10 or less for eBooks and Macmillan wants higher prices. is sympathetic with publishers wanting to make a living, but we're also big believers in affordable pricing. None of our books cost more than $3.99 and many are priced at only $1.00 (including every new book for its first month of availability). The other big news is the long-awaited announcement of Apple's iPad. According to Apple, the iPad will read ePub (and HTML) so you'll be able to read your eBooks on the iPad from day one.
