    BooksForABuck.com Newsletter--July, 2012

    News and Events

Welcome to the July edition of the BooksForABuck.com newsletter.

Those of us in the United States celebrate the 4th of July as Independence Day. I hope all of you (wherever you are) had a wonderful independence day and are enjoying a great summer (or great winter for those of you on the other side of the equator).

Lots of news in the world of reading devices. Microsoft showed off a tablet that converts into a notebook with a real keyboard (and invested in Barnes and Noble's Nook platform) and Google has announced a small tablet at attractive pricing. Meanwhile, the rumor mill has it that Apple will finally release a small tablet. Meanwhile, the same rumor mill says that the Amazon Kindle Fire has not been selling as well as had been hoped (I know we enjoy ours). Who will be the winners? I hope all of us will be with affordable and high-quality products.

    Rob Preece, Publisher

    This Month's Release(s)

Trophy Wives coverIt took a bit longer than I'd hoped but SOMEBODY IS KILLING THE TROPHY WIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS by John Kane is now available. TROPHY WIVES is on sale for $1.00 for its first month of availability (regularly $3.99). Here's what Michael Musto of the Village Voice said: "A hilarious, dishy, and incisive look at the dark side of having too much California sunshine. This comedy/mystery romp could change your life if you stop laughing for a sec and start heeding its morals. Yes, there are some morals!" -- Michael Musto, La Dolce Musto, The Village Voice.

Also in the pipeline for this month is the next volume of Janine Bruce's Centurion series: HIDE AND SIDHE.
