    BooksForABuck.com Newsletter--June, 2012

    News and Events

Welcome to the June edition of the BooksForABuck.com newsletter.

If it's not one thing it's another. June is officially Camp NaNo--just to practice for the real thing, or maybe if you've got a nice summer vacation, the goal is to write a novel in the month. So far, I've gotten zero pages done.

The big news in the world of eBooks continues to be the DOJ anti-trust suit against Apple and the big publishers. I don't have a dog in this hunt. I am, though, all in favor of competition in eBook distribution. Right now, Amazon is the market leader. I love Amazon--I use it for many of my book purchases, our family owns two Kindles, and Amazon is the place to go if you want to buy the paperback version of our books. That said, I'm not anxious to see Amazon become more dominant than they already are. The big news in the world of books is 50 Shades of Grey. Recently, 50 Shades has been selling something like a third of total book sales. I truly don't know what that means--other than that people really should be buying my books instead.

June is officially beach reading time. At BooksForABuck.com, we offer genre fiction that's designed to offer a fun read--while allowing some food for thought at the same time. I hope you'll check out our collection.
