    BooksForABuck.com Newsletter--November, 2010

    News and Events

    • Welcome to the November edition of the BooksForABuck.com newsletter.

As we move into the holiday season, I know many of you are thinking about gift ideas. An eBook reader would make a great gift. With the lower pricing on Amazon Kindle, Barnes and Noble Nook, and the Sony and Borders models as well, this is a great time to buy. I'm intrigued by the new BN Color Nook although I have to say that most of the words I read are in black and white.

If you're not yet a subscriber to this monthly newsletter, follow the link on the bottom to subscribe. We send only a monthly notification so you won't be bombarded by spam and you'll stay current on new releases, author activities, special information, reviews and eBook news.

    • You can buy BooksForABuck.com stuff from our Cafe Press Store (no markup). (Authors, please let me know if you're interested in your own Cafe Press Store. It's free and I'll be happy to help with artwork and to link to it.)
    • If you haven't already done so, check out our videos page. Trailers, video versions, author rants, and just-for-fun entertainment.
    • Available in bookstores? Thanks to an agreement between printers, many of our books (the paperback versions) are now orderable through your local bookstore. Of course, they're also available through Amazon. Authors, you may be able to work with your local bookstore for signings. e-mail me if you have questions.

    Coming in November:

The Elf-Queen's Bounty by Joshua Calkins-Treworgy. Calkins-Treworgy continues his saga of the fantasy land of Tamalaria with an adventure that unites Portenda the Silent (from The Glove of Shadows) with Shoryu Tearfang from The Dread Knight's Redemption. The bounty hunter and were-coyote hunter take off in search of the thief who stole Shoryu's mystic bow...and learn of a plot that's far deeper and more dangerous than they'd imagined. Look for it about mid-month.

    Available in October

The Van Gogh Deception coverTHE VAN GOGH DECEPTION by Michael Paulson. Michael Paulson creates a charming story of love, art forgery, diamond theft, and a young American in Paris in this funny and exciting novel. Paulson is best known for his hard-boiled Deacon Bishop series but he's got a talent for writing funny as well. DECEPTION is regularly priced at $3.99, but will be on sale for only $1.00 until November 16, 2010.

What our authors are up to

    • Last month, author Paul Nelson reached the Fictionwise best-seller list in both Thriller (for TO KILL A JUDGE) and Mystery (for IN THE FLESH). Congratulations Paul.
    • November is NaNoWriMo month (stands for National Novel Writing Month). Several of our authors have taken the challenge. If you're writing, we'd love to 'friend' you and cheer on your success.
