    BooksForABuck.com Newsletter--October, 2008

    News and Events

    • Sorry we're a little late with this edition of the newsletter. We've been hard at work getting our newest science fiction adventure, SARAGOSA PRIME, ready for publication. If you check it out, I think you'll agree it was worth the wait.
    • You can buy BooksForABuck.com stuff from our Cafe Press Store (no markup). (Authors, please let me know if you're interested in your own Cafe Press Store. It's free and I'll be happy to help with artwork and to link to it.)
    • If you haven't already done so, check out our videos page. Trailers, video versions, author rants, and just-for-fun entertainment.

    New Books

We've just published SARAGOSA PRIME--a science fiction adventure. Here's the cover and a bit of detail:

Saragosa Prime cover It was supposed to be a peaceful transition to democracy, but when a warlord invades Saragosa Prime, the old corporate leaders and a popular uprising among the residents join forces. Still, what can they do against an enemy with thousands of mercenaries and with complete control of space overhead? Exciting space/military action--and only $1.00 until November 11, 2008.

    New in paperback:

    Coming in October

In addtion to SARAGOSA PRIME, we've got CARPATHIAN SHADOWS Vol. 2 scheduled for Halloween publication. Tourists are heading back to Lord Erdley's castle--where they find their comfortable realities no longer fit.

As always, you'll want to check back often to take advantage of our introductory pricing and to get the books when they're available nowhere else but directly from BooksForABuck.com.

What our authors are up to

    • I'm hosting a week-long discussion of writing, publishing and BooksForABuck.com at the Muse On-Line Conference. If you've signed up, visit me.
    • Lea Schizas is hosting the entire Muse Conference--she'll be a very busy writer.
    • Karen Leabo will be hosting a table at the 3rd Annual Buns & Roses tea for literacy. Check it out here--it's a good cause.
    • Lea Schizas (editor of THE CARPATHIAN SHADOWS Vol. 1) manages the MuseItUp Club for writers. Her FREE online Muse conference is October 13-19.
    • Cathy Richard Dodson is hosting a book signing from 4:00-7:00PM in downtown Fulton, MO on October 14. The theme--Love, Lust and Lyrics. I'm almost tempted to drive to Missouri to check it out. Cathy tells me she'll be dressed as Caroline Lyndfield from her recent novel GLASS HOURS.
    • Authors--keep me posted on your activities so I can include them in the newsletter.
