Review of STEAMY SAVANNAH NIGHTS by Sheri WhitefeatherDYNASTIES: THE DANFORTHSSilhouette Desire #1597, August 2004 When Michael Whittaker, bodyguard to Senator Abraham Danforth, first spots Lea Nguyen at a fundraiser, she looks out of place and he wonders if she might be the stalker, "Lady Savannah," who's been after the senator. But Lea turns out to be the senator's illegitimate daughter from Vietnam, a potentially explosive PR nightmare. Michael's first priority is to keep the senator safe, and the easiest way to do that is to keep a close eye on Lea. That goal becomes laughably easy because the sparks fly from the moment these two meet. But even as Michael's suspicions about Lea and her motives increase, he finds himself falling for her. Steamy Savannah Nights certainly lives up to its name. But there's more to this story than the simple plot might suggest. Ms. Whitefeather does a good job exploring the subtleties of Lea's conflicted character and the issues surrounding Amerasian children left behind in Vietnam. A fast and powerfully sexy read.
